Our Story

Providencia Counseling Collective began with a question we couldn’t ignore:

Why is it so difficult to access truly life-changing mental health care?

We were therapists—and friends—watching this reality unfold in real time.
We sat with people carrying anxiety, trauma, grief, relational pain… people ready for help… people wanting to do the work.

And again and again, the barriers were the same:

They simply couldn’t afford it or they couldn’t find a therapist that fit their need.

High-quality, trauma-informed, clinically excellent therapy—the kind that actually transforms lives—was often out of reach.

So before the pandemic—before mental health became a national conversation—we decided to build something different.

Providencia Counseling Collective was our answer.

A collective rooted in the belief that:

  • Healing should be accessible, not reserved

  • Therapy should be deep, relational, and clinically excellent

  • Cost should not determine whether someone gets support

What began as a shared conviction has grown into a community of like-minded therapists across Palm Beach County,
each carrying the same heartbeat:

To provide transformative care to individuals, couples, families, and children, especially when access feels out of reach.

Why “Providencia”?

Our name comes from a story embedded in the very soil of Palm Beach.

In the late 1800s (most often cited around the 1870s), a ship called the Providencia wrecked just off the coast of Palm Beach.
Among its cargo were thousands of coconuts.

After the wreck, those coconuts washed ashore and began to take root.

Over time, they grew into what would become the iconic, lush palm-lined landscape of Palm Beach
—the very canopy and coastline that now define this place.

What began as a shipwreck…
became a source of unexpected beauty and provision.

Out of Shipwrecks, New Life

We hold onto that truth.

Because therapy often begins in places that feel like wreckage:

  • the aftermath of trauma or loss

  • the disorientation of anxiety or depression

  • the breaking points in relationships

  • the quiet ache of disconnection

These are the moments that can feel like everything has come undone.

And yet, when there is support, care, and space to heal…

those very places can become the ground where new life begins.

At Providencia Counseling Collective, we believe:

  • that provision can come from unexpected places

  • that healing is possible even in the face of struggle

  • that with the right support, people don’t just survive—they transform

What We’re Building

We are building a model where:

  • individuals and families can access therapy regardless of financial limitation

  • therapists are supported to offer meaningful, sustainable care

  • community healing becomes something we participate in together

This is more than a collective.

It is a response to a need.
A belief in what’s possible.
A commitment to making healing accessible.

Because out of shipwrecks, can come new life.
